‘Virus’ lab completed

THE construction of China’s first high-level biosafety laboratory was completed yesterday after more than a decade. The facility, in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, will be used to study class four pathogens, the most virulent of viruses that pose a high risk of aerosol transmitted person-to-person infection. The lab is expected to play a crucial role in the fight against epidemics such as Ebola.
