Visitors use manhole to evade ticket for visiting Xi’an’s city walls
SOME tourists were found to be avoiding the admission price of visiting city walls in Xi’an, capital of northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, by getting into and climbing out of a manhole that’s directly under a fence enclosing the area, according to photos posted by a netizen on the BBS of hsw.cn, the province’s biggest portal website.
The netizen “Banshishi” found quite a few visitors had entered the city walls from fenced side on Sunday. The admission evaders climbed into a manhole that is part of the underground water system instead of climbing over the walls.
They got in on one side of the manhole and get out from the other side in order to visit the walls for free.
