Watchdog details more violations
China’s disciplinary watchdog yesterday published 131 cases of violations of the Party’s anti-corruption and frugality code on its website.
They included using public funds for travel, gifts, shopping cards, dining and extravagant receptions.
Officials who held overly lavish weddings or funerals or accepted improper gifts were named and shamed in the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection report.
The commission said it would disclose more cases in the next few weeks.
It also promoted a section on its website where the public can detail violations they come across.
More than 43,000 officials, including eight at provincial level, were punished for violating the austerity rules in the first 11 months of 2015 in China, the commission said in an earlier report.
Reports issued during the holiday periods last year exposed more than 1,600 cases involving more than 2,200 officials.
