China and the European Union can work out a solution to trade disputes through mutual respect and proper consultations, Premier Li Keqiang said yesterday.
As each other’s biggest trading partner, it was natural the two would have some trade frictions, he said, but cited last year’s dispute over photovoltaic products as an example of how they can be resolved.
On exports to the EU, Li promoted China’s equipment industry, saying Chinese companies can deliver the equipment for building high-speed railways and nuclear plants in the fastest way and at the minimum cost.
China is upgrading its economy, including exports, he said.
“We can’t just export toys, apparel and shoes,” he added.
