Wen Guides Relief
PREMIER Wen Jiabao visited snow-ravaged Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei Province, by train yesterday afternoon to oversee relief work in the disaster area.
He met with passengers in the waiting room of the railway station and also went to a border section between Hebei and Shanxi provinces to visit stranded expressway passengers and inspect the overall damage caused by the extreme weather.
More than 25,000 police officers and 15,000 patrol vehicles in Hebei, Shandong, and Henan, the three worst-hit provinces, have been mobilized to clear snow from the roads and to ease traffic congestion.
