Wen's Best Wishes

PREMIER Wen Jiabao congratulated Conservative Party Leader David Cameron on becoming Britain's 52nd prime minister in a telephone conversation last night.

He wished Cameron well on behalf of the Chinese government and people.

Wen expected to continue a strong working relationship with the new government.

Cameron said China was an important strategic partner and his country highly valued the relationship.

He said the British government would expand cooperation with China in all fields.
