White House Clarifies Yuan Stand
The White House said yesterday that no formal decision had been made to delay a report on whether to declare China a currency manipulator.
The New York Times reported that the Obama administration, seeking to ease relations with China, was deferring the decision until after a visit to Washington by President Hu Jintao for a nuclear conference scheduled to run between April 12 and 13.
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said no such decision had been made.
