Woman arrested for killing twin boys in ransom plot

A woman in central Henan Province was arrested for kidnapping and murdering her neighbor's 8-year-old twin boys and extorting 200,000 yuan in ransom (US$31,672) from the family, the local Dahe Daily reported today.
Si Qing, the woman in Xinxiang City, confessed that she kidnapped the twin boys on the night of January 8 when her neighbor surnamed Li and his wife were not at home.
Si admitted that she killed the two boys around 8:40pm and hid their bodies in a closet. Then, she went to buy a new cell phone card and called Li for a ransom of 200,000 yuan.
Li and his wife immediately reported to the police and Si was captured early next morning.
Li said they were good neighbors before and the woman used to borrow money from his wife twice and returned the money in time.
Other neighbors said Si was addicted to Mahjong and had lost about 100,000 yuan in gambling.
Si's husband was also held by police but it is not known yet whether he was involved in the case.
