Woman awarded for saving a falling toddler
THE woman who rushed to catch a toddler falling off the 10 floor and saved her life in Hangzhou, capital of eastern Zhejiang Province, received a top honor for women yesterday for her heroic act.
Wu Juping, 31, was honored as the March 8th Red Banner Carrier by the All-China Women's Federation, the China Woman newspaper reported today.
The federation praised Wu for stepped forward to save other's life regardless of her own danger, saying her act has set a good example for others.
Wu suffered from multiple fractures in her left forearm when her arms caught the toddler before she hit the ground on July 2.
Wu received a bone-fixing therapy and is recovering well. She will soon be discharged from the hospital.
