Woman detained after daughters found dead
POLICE detained a woman on homicide charges after her two daughters were found dead in their home yesterday morning in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, police said.
The girls were aged three and one, according to officers.
Neighbors said the two girls probably starved to death as they were left home alone. They added that their father had been caught by police as a criminal suspect and their mother, surnamed Le, has a history of using drugs.
Police were still investigating how the girls died.
The bodies were found about 9am when police officers went to see Le at her apartment in Jiangning District.
They had also tried to visit Le on both Wednesday and Thursday, but their knocks had gone unanswered.
