Woman gives birth to twins on Guangdong bound flight

A pregnant woman gave birth to premature twins on a flight destined for Zhanjiang City in Guangdong Province yesterday morning, Yangcheng Evening News reported.
The plane was diverted to Guangzhou for an emergency landing to help her. However, the woman, who was 30 weeks pregnant, gave birth to the twins while the plane was making its descent to land at Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou, the report said.
Fortunately for the woman, an obstetrician was onboard the plane and the babies were delivered safely, the report said.
Doctors were waiting at the airport when the plane landed. Initial exams showed the twins needed further medical treatment because they were born premature, but the mother was in good condition, according to the report. They were later rushed to a hospital.
