Woman held after baby thrown from 6th floor balcony

A woman has been detained after she threw her 1-year-old son from a 6th floor balcony of a residential building in Hefei, Anhui Province, Beijing News reported today.

The boy survived, but sustained brain hemorrhaging and is in hospital after police arrived at the scene quickly, the report said.

The woman was identified as Wu Benzhi, the report said.

Police said they are still investigating the case.
