Woman jailed for life after killing husband

A woman with hepatitis B was sentenced to life in prison for killing her husband and causing the death of their unborn baby, Nanguo Morning News reported yesterday.
The woman, surnamed Li, who lives in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, argued frequently with her husband, surnamed Zhou, after she was diagnosed with the disease and became pregnant. Zhou had advised her to have an abortion so the baby wouldn't get hepatitis b, but she refused, the report said.
On April 30, 2011, Zhou once again advised Li to have an abortion, which started a quarrel. During the argument, Li stabbed Zhou in the stomach and killed him with an electric shock, according to the report. She wrote in blood on the floor: "We will be together forever and never get a divorce," the report said.
The next morning Li stabbed herself and after treatment she lost the ability to speak and her unborn child died, the report said.
The couple met in 2010 and married a year later in Luchuang County.
