Woman killed by rock

A WOMAN who had dedicated much of her life to helping others died after being hit with a rock that smashed through the front window of the car she was in on Wednesday in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, Nanfang Daily reported yesterday.
Xing Dan, 30, had continued doing the charitable work started by her husband Cong Fei, a singer who donated 3 million yuan (US$459,350) to 170 impoverished people before cancer took his life in 2006.
Xing was pronounced dead in hospital on Thursday after the rock smashed through the window of the moving vehicle and hit her in the forehead, according to the driver of the car.
Police are investigating the incident.
Xing's family said that they will donate her cornea, the Information Times newspaper reported yesterday. Her husband's cornea was also donated after he died.
