Woman killed in Tibet
One woman was killed and two people were injured in Tibet after China’s neighbor Nepal was jolted by yesterday’s earthquake.
All three were in a car hit by falling rocks in the Gyirong township when the 7.5-magnitude quake struck.
The dead woman was identified as Chodron.
Karma Tenzin, a border inspection officer, said Chodron was a local resident. The injured are undergoing medical treatment.
Wu Aijun, a police officer in Zham in Nyalam County, said: “Roads were cut off by debris from landslides.”
He said he could see across the border and a village in Nepal was also battered by landslides.
China evacuated thousands of residents from Zham after the April quake.
