Woman marries driver who injured her in crash

TALK about a hit-and-run relationship: A woman who was struck and injured by a man on a motorbike in Chongqing in 2010 ended up marrying him after he nursed her back to health.

Their story of unlikely love came to light after the couple last week thanked a police officer who was at the scene of the crash and later, visiting them in the hospital, remarked that they looked like a couple, the Chongqing Morning Post today.

The 34-year-old woman, named Wang Fengmei, left home in Guizhou Province for Chongqing on March 5, 2010 to meet a man she had gotten to know online. However, she couldn't reach him.

Suddenly, she was knocked down by a motorbike while she was waiting, the report said. The man on the bike, named Wen Jiping, didn't run away but made sure Wang got to a hospital.

Wang had severe injuries, including four broken ribs and a damaged spleen. Wen took care of her in the hospital, and, a month later, he took Wang home and looked after her for another month.

They fell in love and got married, and had a daughter in 2011.
