Woman must pay ex-friend for cutting hair that lured boyfriend away

A JILTED lover must pay compensation after cutting off her best friend’s long hair, which she blamed for the loss of her boyfriend, while the friend slept, a news portal in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, reported today.
Li Mei’s boyfriend, Zhang Shuai, started to snub her after meeting Li’s roommate, Wang Hong, at a dinner, the report said. Wang’s long hair really enchanted him, news.longhoo.net reported.
Zhang began flirting with Wang and Wang responded. Li was angered at having been replaced and she decided to take revenge, the report said.
One night as Wang slept, Li cut her hair with scissors, according to the report. When Wang woke up the next morning, she called Zhang and the police.
The case was sent for judicial mediation and Li agreed to pay Wang 3,000 yuan (US$491.70) as compensation. Their friendship, however, could not be repaired, the report said.
