Woman sells baby and lies to husband
A WOMAN and her mother will be charged in Beijing for allegedly selling her 6-month-old daughter for 10,000 yuan (US$1,477), today's Beijing Times reported.
The woman surnamed Wang gave birth to a girl last August and felt so tired of caring her alone in Beijing that she suggested putting her in the care of her mother in Hebei Province. But her mother rejected the idea because she disapproved the marriage.
Exhausted, Wang decided to abandon the baby and asked her mother to find a buyer.
On January 28, Wang and her mother sold the baby to a couple in Hebei for 10,000 yuan. She lied to her husband that the baby was robbed while she took her out for some fun.
Her husband called police. During the investigation, Wang confessed that she had sold the baby with the help of her mother. Police soon got the baby back.
