Woman stabs husband to death after 27 years of alleged domestic violence

A woman believed to be a victim of domestic violence for about 27 years has been charged with killing her husband in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province.
On September 17, the 53-year-old woman’s husband allegedly beat her after having sex. He had been drinking before and allegedly picked up a fruit knife and threatened to dig out her eyes. The woman allegedly grabbed the knife and stabbed him several times. She was also accused of deliberately ignoring her husband's call for help and leaving him to die.
She also apparently failed in a bid to divorce the man because she was unable to return her betrothal gifts.
