Woman stabs nine passengers on train
A MIDDLE-AGED woman allegedly used a 15-cm knife to stab nine passengers sleeping on a train in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province early this morning.
The victims have been treated in a hospital and are cooperating with railway police to investigate the assault case, dbw.cn reported today.
One of the victims surnamed Wang told the Website that it was quiet on train K7019 from Heilongjiang's capital Harbin City to Hebei City when he felt a sudden pain in his leg around 2am this morning.
He was sleeping on a lower sleeper on the train and saw a woman in her 40s was walking toward a passenger on another lower berth carrying a 15-cm knife.
Hearing other passengers cry in pain, he saw a few travelers jump up to catch the woman. Wang joined the force and she was soon brought under control. Railway police then arrived.
Wang later realized he had been stabbed in the leg. Another eight people were also injured.
The victims were sent to the Jiamusi Railway Station for treatment when the train pulled into the station.
Jiamusi railway police declined to discuss the case, saying it is being investigated.
