Woman strangles and impales boy before suicide

A woman in Qingdao, a port city in eastern Shandong Province, killed herself by drinking pesticide on Thursday after she strangled and knocked two 10cm-long screw nails into the head of her 10-year-old stepson, bandao.cn reported today
The boy, identified as Ming Ming, has remained in a coma and in critical condition after a surgery in the Medical College Hospital of Qingdao University, the report said.
The two nails have been removed from his head but Ming Ming may not be able to survive as his brain was also damaged by oxygen deprivation due to strangling by her stepmother surnamed Yang.
Yang, who began to live with the boy's father in 2004, was found at their home, lying on bed with foams coming from her mouth. A rope was tied around the boy's neck, which left a bruise mark.
Both Yang and Ming Ming were rushed to the hospital but Yang didn't survive.
Neighbors said Yang and Ming Ming's father had a big fight a month ago. The tragedy happened when the boy's father went to his hometown to attend a relative's funeral.
