Workers get paid after a round of beating
MORE than 10 workers were beaten up by a mob before allowed to take their unpaid salaries.
The incident which occured in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, is now under police investigation, today's Guangzhou Daily reported.
Hou Houqian, one of the workers, told the newspaper that they had finished a building project contracted by their employer, Jianyue Construction Company. But their boss Zheng Hongwu refused to pay them despite repeated requests.
On July 28 the workers were told to pick up their pay, however, when they arrived at the company's office, they were assaulted by a mob of up to 30 unidentified men.
