NEARLY 1,000 steel company workers blocked a downtown road in a central Chinese city to demand back pay and insurance premiums.
The workers of Linzhou Iron and Steel Co Ltd blocked a major road in Linzhou City, Henan Province on Saturday afternoon as they were not satisfied with a restructuring plan formulated by the company. After a dialogue with local officials, the workers dispersed at midday yesterday. Normal traffic has resumed.
