Work-hour exercise comes back with a tune
Beijing will revive a tradition to ask people to have exercises at work intervals to encourage a healthy life.
Starting next Monday, Beijing Sports Radio FM 102.5 will broadcast the eight-minute music for stretching exercise at 10am and 3am every day, reported the Beijing Times today.
The music, taken off the air in 2007 to give room to a Beijing Olympic program, will accompany 4 million government workers and State enterprise employees in Beijing in their body-building routine.
This is part of the capital city's public health campaign. A plan made in 2009 says every employee should do work-hour exercises once a day. It also encourages other forms of exercise such as yoga and tai chi.
