World champions' stadium wedding a topic of controversy

OLYMPIC figure skating champion couple Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo will hold their wedding in grand style next month and surprise--anyone can come if you buy a ticket.
The couple are now selling tickets to their all-star ceremony on September 4 in Beijing's Capital Stadium. Ticket prices range from 100 yuan to 1,080 yuan.
The couple's bold move has sparked a heated debate online as many accused them of being money-thirsty.
"Chinese sports stars rarely do anything commercial like this and we are the first to try," today's Beijing Morning Post quoted Zhao as saying. "The proceeds will be used to invite sports and showbiz stars to perform at the wedding."
Zhao also promised that 10 percent of their proceeds will go to charity.
The world's top-ranked figure skaters, Evgeni Plushenko and Alexei Yagudin of Russia, Mao Asada of Japan, Johnny Weir of USA, will be invited to perform in the stadium. Chinese singers Zhang Liangying and Lu Siqing are also among the guest list.
