Worst of injured in bus crash are stable
SIX severely injured people are in stable condition after a bus carrying college students rolled over in north China's port city of Tianjin on Friday, killing 35 people and injuring 20 others, doctors said yesterday.
The six patients suffered head trauma and fractures, forcing them to remain in intensive care, according to a doctor from Renmin Hospital in Tianjin.
The hospital said it has gathered the city's leading medical experts to provide treatment for the patients, mostly students.
The bus rolled over after crashing into a car at 3:50pm on Friday on the Tianjin section of Binhai-Baoding Expressway.
Most of the coach's passengers were students on their way back to Tangshan College in neighboring Hebei Province on the last day of the weeklong National Day holiday.
An initial probe indicated that the bus was speeding and overloaded when the accident happened. The victims said the coach was privately owned and operated.
