Xi leaves Beijing for G20 Summit
CHINESE President Xi Jinping left Beijing for the 9th G20 Summit in Brisbane and state visits to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
The Summit is slated for Nov. 15 and 16 while the state visits are from Nov. 16 to 23. Xi will also meet leaders from Pacific island countries that have diplomatic relations with China.
Xi was invited by Australian Governor-General Peter Cosgrove and Prime Minister Tony Abbott, New Zealand's Governor-General Jerry Mateparae and Prime Minister John Key, and Fiji's President Epeli Nailatikau and Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.
Xi's entourage includes his wife Peng Liyuan; Wang Huning, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee; Wang Yang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier; Li Zhanshu, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee; State Councilor Yang Jiechi and Zhou Xiaochuan, head of the People's Bank of China.
