Xi says China is Europe's 'reliable friend'
CHINESE Vice President Xi Jinping reiterated China's support for the euro when he addressed a business forum in Dublin yesterday.
China is a reliable friend for European countries in their moves to fight the debt crisis and seek economic recovery, and China is a trustworthy partner in the international multilateral arena, Xi told hundreds of business leaders from both China and Ireland.
He said China would continue to support the efforts of the European Union, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund to resolve Europe's debt crisis.
Xi said China's imports were expected to hit US$8,000 billion in 2015 and overseas investment reach US$500 billion.
After the forum, Xi left for Turkey, the last leg of his three-nation tour.
