Xi'an official sacked from CPC over sexual assault

A SENIOR quality control official has been sacked over a sex scandal from his post as law maker by the Xi'an Committee of the Chinese People's Congress in Shaanxi Province, northwest China.

Deng Zongsheng was accused of sexually harassing a female colleague surnamed Zhang, who attempted suicide at her office by swallowing pesticide on April 17, today's China Business View reported.

Xian's disciplinary supervisory authority sacked Deng from his post as director of the city's Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision in August after he was convicted of the assault, the report said.

The authority said Deng's behavior had breached Party discipline as well as morality.

Zhang was in a coma after the suicide attempt and is now recovering, according to Chinese Business View.
