Xiao 'Should Have Been Acquitted'
XIAO Chuanguo appealed his sentence yesterday via his attorney Gao Zicheng.
Gao said the court that dealt with the matter was wrong in considering certain factors, wrong in its application of the law and had been influenced by public opinion and the mass media.
Gao said Xiao had only attempted to assault Fang Zhouzi instead of stirring up trouble as the court had found. "As Fang escaped without any injuries, Xiao should have been acquitted and deserved administrative punishment by police only," Gao said.
