Eight-year-old girl Xia Muyang returned 300,000 yuan to a woman surnamed Wang on Saturday night after finding it in Huaihua City, Hunan Province, VOC.com.cn reported on Monday.
Wang left her bag with 300,000 yuan in it on an unlocked three-wheeler outside her shop and rushed to a washroom, according to the report. The bag was gone when she returned and she immediately called the police.
Thirty minutes later, Xia appeared and gave the money back to the woman, accompanied by her father and the police.
Xia found the bag outside Wang's shop when she was playing. She took the bag home and gave it to her father. After discovering the money inside, Xia's dad called the police at once, the report said.
Police reminded people to take extra care of their belongings as the Spring Festival approaches.
