Young mom kills crying baby with hammer, dumps body in river

A young mother was arrested in Guangzhou after she allegedly killed her three-month-old son with a hammer because he wouldn't stop crying, Nanfang Daily reported today.
On July 11, Chen was taking care of her son alone and she became extremely irritated because the baby would not stop crying, the report said. Chen allegedly put her baby on the floor and smashed his head with a hammer, the newspaper said. She then put him in a plastic bag and threw him into a river, according to the report.
Chen's family called the police when they returned home and could not find the boy after his mother said he had gone missing, the report said.
Police found the dead baby and questioned Chen, who confessed, the report said.
