Youth Federation Disinvites Japanese
THE All-China Youth Federation yesterday called off a visit by 1,000 young Japanese to Shanghai.
"Considering the current situation of the China-Japan relations, we think that it is not a good time for hosting such events," the federation said. The trip was to have started today.
Also yesterday, organizers said Asian Packaging Congress had been postponed.
The event was to be hosted by the Asian Packaging Federation in Tokyo on October 5 and 6, said Shi Wanpeng, president of the APF and China Packaging Federation.
The captain incident has seriously damaged bilateral contacts between China and Japan, said Shi.
The decision has been relayed to the APF Secretariat Office in Bangkok and to all APF members, he added.
