Yue Yue's father donates cash to leukemia patient
WANG Chichang, the father of the hit-and-run toddler who died on October 21, sent 60,000 yuan (US$9,444) of donated cash for his daughter's treatment to a 25-year-old leukemia patient on Monday.
Wang said he couldn't stand the allegations that he kept all the donations and had disappeared, the Guangzhou Daily reported today.
Wang promised earlier that he would give all the leftover of donations to people in need of money for medical treatment.
His two-year-old daughter Yue Yue was run over by two mini vans in a marketplace in Foshan, Guangdong Province, on October 13 and succumbed to massive injuries after eight days of emergency treatment.
The leukemia patient, Chen Liangfa, needed money for a bone-marrow transplant to save his life. He also received 200,000 yuan from another donor but was still 80,000 yuan short of the sum, the paper said.
