Yunnan mine boss tries to hide tragedy that leaves 6 dead
SIX coal miners were killed and one was injured in a mine accident in Yunnan Province on April 3 and the mine owner was found guilty of not reporting the accident to government authorities, Xinhua reported today.
Xuanwei City police said last night that they learned about the accident after receiving reports from local residents. Initial investigation showed there were 42 workers inside in the coal mine when the accident occurred and 35 of them got out safely. One was injured and six died.
The injured miner was sent to a local hospital immediately and is now in stable condition. Police said they have kept the mine owner under control.
