Zero tolerance over food safety
China will have zero tolerance of food safety violations as it does more to ensure the safety of farm produce, its agriculture minister said yesterday.
Speaking at a press conference on the sidelines of the National PeopleÕs Congress annual session in Beijing, Han Changfu said the countryÕs 13th Five-Year Plan, through 2020, has a goal of improving the quality of agricultural produce.
Han said standardized food production and stronger administrative supervision were needed to see that goal being achieved.
