ZHANG Dejiang was elected chairman of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee this morning at the ongoing annual session of Chinese top legislature.
Zhang, born in 1946, is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
