Zhang Ziyi calls police
CHINESE film actress Zhang Ziyi has contacted the police after an incident at a hotel near her home in Beijing where a group of men vandalized a picture of her and shouted accusations that she was a swindler and a home wrecker.
Zhang's business broker Ji Lingling said yesterday that the actress had never been involved in any business disputes. Ji also said Zhang was in a good relationship with her boyfriend Vivi Nevo and the "family wrecker" accusation was "sheer nonsense."
Several men splashed ink over Zhang's portrait in the hotel and shouted that Zhang had swindled another woman out of millions of yuan and had slept with her husband, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported yesterday.
The scene was witnessed by a group of reporters who had been tipped off that another celebrity would be getting engaged at the hotel. That turned out not to be the case.
Instead, they managed to film Zhang and her family out for a walk before the ink incident.
Zhang didn't respond to questions after she was spotted by reporters but appeared to be in a good mood.
But later, the men, wearing hooded parkas, stepped out of an Audi Q7 car and splashed ink on an advertising poster featuring the actress. The report said the men spoke northeastern China dialect and all wore sunglasses.
