Zhengzhou residents gorge on noodles to help man with cancer
NOODLE fever is sweeping Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province, after a local with cancer asked people to come to his family-owned restaurant and eat noodles so they can raise money for medical treatment, a media report said.
Li Gang, 42, posted several days ago on the Internet that he was diagnosed with primary bone cancer, but his family couldn't afford treatment. Therefore, he asked people to dine in his restaurant.
Li's post spread quickly due to his sincerity and straightforwardness, Xinhua news agency reported today.
Located in a remote lane, the restaurant has been filled with diners at around 11:30am. Most admitted they came after hearing about Li's plight, and some donated money to the family, the report said.
More than 20 people have donated from 100 yuan (US$16) to 1,000 yuan.
