Xu Jianyi, former party chief and chairman of Chinese automaker FAW Group, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and thrown out of his job, the country's top antigraft body said Thursday.
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said Xu was in "serious breach of integrity and self-discipline rules" , as he had accepted gifts of cash, infringed upon state interests in property deals and taken a bigger bonus than rules allow.
A CCDI statement said Xu had refused to implement Party decisions and favored his son in promotions. He used his position to seek profits for others in the selection and appointment of officials and in company operations. He did not stop his activities, even after the 18th CPC National Congress, when a high-profile anticorruption campaign went into full swing.
He was also found to have interfered in the investigation and his case has been handed over to law enforcement agencies. The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said Thursday that it would file a case against him.
Xu has been placed under compulsive measures, which include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest.
The CCDI announced in March that Xu had been placed under investigation for alleged serious violations of the Party's code of conduct and laws. In July, he was thrown out of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.
