Former top official admits taking bribes
广东省政协原主席朱明国受审 被控受贿1.41亿余元

A FORMER political adviser from south China’s Guangdong Province yesterday admitted taking bribes worth over 141 million yuan (US$21.5million) and having another 91.04 million yuan he can’t account for.

Zhu Mingguo, former head of Guangdong’s provincial political advisory body, appeared in court charged with helping 10 companies and individuals between 2002 and 2014.

During that time he had variously been Chongqing’s police chief and deputy Party chief of Guangdong and the holder of other high-ranking positions.

In return for the favors he granted, a court in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region heard, he and his wife Chen Wenjing had accepted cash and goods worth millions.

Liuzhou Intermediate People’s Court didn’t announce a verdict in the case at the conclusion of proceedings yesterday.
