Former vice mayor arrested in south China

THE former vice mayor of Qinzhou, Zhang Hong, has been arrested for suspected corruption, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region procuratorate said on Thursday.
The Communist Party of China's (CPC) Guangxi discipline inspection commission placed Zhang under investigation in September.
Subsequently the Party discipline watchdog said it believed Zhang had abused his power to seek benefits for others in exchange for money.
Zhang was removed from his position as vice mayor and expelled from the CPC.
Further investigation is still underway.
