THE former general manager of China National Petroleum Corp, Liao Yongyuan, pled guilty to accepting bribes when he appeared at Dezhou Intermediate People’s Court in east China’s Shandong Province yesterday.

Liao had been charged with helping others with business operations and promotions, and directly or indirectly accepting assets worth over 13.39 million yuan (US$1.98 million) between 1997 to 2014.

Liao was also accused of having property worth 21.03 million yuan from unidentified sources.
