A national political adviser has been ejected from the Communist Party of China and sacked from his post for a “serious violation of discipline and law.”

Yang Gang, a former deputy head of the Committee for Economic Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, was found to have taken advantage of his position to benefit others, taken huge bribes and committed adultery, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said yesterday.

The case has been passed to prosecutors, it said.

Meanwhile, three officials from Guangdong Province have also been kicked out of the Party and sacked for the same offense, the provincial discipline commission said.

The trio are: Cao Jianliao, the former deputy mayor of Guangzhou, Tu Yaosheng, a former head of the Guangdong Second Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Li Heping, deputy general manager of Guangdong Guangye Assets Management.

In Jiangxi Province, ex-deputy water resources chief Wen Lin has been detained for alleged graft, prosecutors said.
