GONG Qinggai, a former senior Taiwan affairs official, is being investigated over suspicions that he took bribes, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate announced yesterday.
Gong had been deputy head of the Taiwan Work Office of the Party’s Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said last month that Gong had been dishonest about his personal assets, had accepted gifts, used his post to seek benefits for others, and that he had made use of luxury cars that he did not own.
