Zhu Mingguo disqualified as national political advisor

ZHU Mingguo, former chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), was disqualified Friday as a member of the CPPCC National Committee.

The decision was made at the 23rd chairman and vice-chairpersons' meeting of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

In late November, it was announced that Zhu was under investigation for "serious disciplinary and legal violations."

Also at the meeting, presided over by Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, Lyu Xinhua was appointed spokesman of the third session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee to be held next year.

Lyu is deputy head of the Committee of Foreign Affairs under the CPPCC National Committee.

A preparatory meeting for the session is scheduled for Feb. 27 and 28.

The meeting also adopted a plan for consultative work and bi-weekly symposia in 2015.
