11 try to claim lost bundle of cash

ELEVEN people have turned up to claim they lost about 11,000 yuan (US$1,611) in Nanjing after two young men discovered the cash, police said.

The men who found the money in the capital of Jiangsu Province waited in the rain for two hours until police arrived and photographed the find, local media reported today.

Police said they didn't reveal the exact amount found to weed out false claimants.

The real owner has now been found and offered 3,000 yuan as reward to the finders. However, they refused.
