3 tourists injured, thrown from amusement park ride in Xi'an
POLICE are investigating an amusement park accident that left three tourists injured in Xi’an, in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, the local Huashang News reported.
Three tourists riding on a high-speed, windmill-like ride were thrown from the ride around 1:30pm yesterday, several witnesses said on their Weibo accounts.
All were sent to the hospital for treatment, and a woman in her 20s was still in serious condition with multiple fractures, said the report.
The staff did not check passengers’ safety belts before starting the ride, according to a 23-year-old victim who thought they had fastened their belts.
The amusement park, near the Qinling Wildlife Park, opened to the public in 2009.
