Drunk dad beats son to death

A 10-YEAR-OLD boy was beaten to death by his drunk father in a central China city, China News Service reported today.

The grade three pupil was found dead in bed at his home in Cangzhou, Hebei Province, yesterday morning. Police have detained the father surnamed Zhang.

The father admitted he had beaten his son after getting drunk on Saturday and that he had repeatedly abused him, China News Service quoted police as saying. The boy had called police four times during previous beatings, they said.
