Landslide claims 3 more lives today in Shaanxi

FIVE people were buried in a landslide in Baoji City in northeastern Shaanxi Province this morning as heavy rains continued in the region.
They were dug out before noon but three of them were already dead. The survivors were rushed to a local hospital, Xinhua reported on its website.
The landslide occurred at 8:30am. A three-wheeler got stuck in the mud and four local residents were helping the driver to free the vehicle when they were suddenly engulfed by the landslide.
Two days ago, 10 people died and 22 others went missing when a rain-triggered landslide swept over a hillside factory in the city.
In Xi'an, the provincial capital, landslide fatalities have increased to 17 while 15 people are still missing after a landslide struck on September 17. Rescue effort is continuing, Xinhua said.
